Here’s another victory for the son!

This was my first long run (15 miles) of the month in preparation for the upcoming marathons begining in October. I want to run the Long Beach Marina Full Marathon (Sept. 5th) that I just discovered on line but do not know if I will be prepared enough to finish without injury. I ran the 15 miles with little trouble so I believe I am ready but will have to see once I run 18 miles tomorrow.
It is a wonderful feeling beginning able to run long distances! It’s just me against the Earth and I feel great!
I had a successful but hot run today. I decided to take on the same Jamboree/ PCH/ Irvine Ave 11 mile loop that I did yesterday and focused on shaving some time off of this one. I succeeded! Even though today’s run was hot and my legs felt like bricks, I pushed through and took 00:1:18 off my finishing time!
Here is my post run juice that I made into 4 16oz servings for water and nutrient replenishment. It consists of frozen berries, water, orange juice, pineapple, watermelon and acai!
Here is the Google Maps description of the route I ran today! The above Title shows the date, time in which I started my run and the length of time in which I ran. Great run and can’t wait to push further!

During this 5 mile stroll, I passed by the Newport Beach Vineyards and Winery http://www.nbwine.com/sys-tmpl/door/ and met up with my friend Jason and his baby Braylon at the YMCA for a quick 30 minute excercise. Being in the company of Braylon was special as it was my first experience running with the little guy. It was awesome! I think he’s going to be an olympic runner here pretty soon!
Shortly after my work out with Peter I received a text from my Father inquiring about our 4 O’clock tee time at Rancho San Joaquin Golf Course in Irvine. I completely forgot about golf!! Now, tired, fatigued and drenched in sweat, I had to prepare myself for 18 holes of golf. No problem! The day was still young at 2:30 and I was now starting to mentally prepare myself for what would be wonderful round of golf.
One cup of coffee please and 3 Advil!
My Father and I picked up golf about 4 months ago and have been playing consistently every week since. We are beginners who love the challenge of the sport and enjoy the company we keep.
On this particular day, we chose to play at Rancho San Joaquin in Irvine. Rancho is a course open to the public and is kept in relatively good condition. With plenty of open fairways and par 5’s, I am able to crank out my new Taylor Made Burner driver! Oh the sound of that ball once it leaves the club is enough to bring me back even if I do shank it!
The goal of my Father and I is to break 100 on this course! We will get there soon enough. For now, we continue to learn about patience as we grow into better golfers.
Until next week! See you then Dad!!
